Tracing the nostalgia of the Search adventure at Istana Budaya
KUALA LUMPUR: There are many interesting things that are the ‘bait’ of the country’s legendary rock band, Search, to attract the attention of their die-hard fans who came to support their concert this Sunday (December 4).
Understanding that their loyal supporters have never wavered even an inch from continuing to give support, Search members want to capture something extraordinary at the Search Rock On 40 performance at Istana Budaya, this weekend.
After more than four decades of consistently championing ‘rock n roll’ music, Search will put all their love into their closing concert in 2022.
Search, which consists of Datuk Amy, Man Kidal, Hillary Ang and Nasir, has already imagined that at the Search Rock On 40 concert, fans will be taken along with them across the niches of the past that once made them famous as a rock band.
The core of this concert, explained Nasir, is to bring Search nostalgia at the beginning of the band’s establishment in a mega venue in addition to giving their fans a chance to reminisce about their ‘young’ days.
“Search Rock On 40 as an expression of Search’s appreciation for the past that made Search where it is today.
“We want to bring back that nostalgia in today’s time and space to give the fans who have been with us since the beginning an opportunity to appreciate the past experience and at the same time want the younger generation of fans to see how Search’s art trail began in the rock n roll arena,” said Nasir in a meeting with the media recently.
Can’t wait for December 4th, Search vocalist Amy is so excited to share the dishes that will be featured on the night of the concert.
According to the rock n roll art legend, at the Search Rock On 40 performance, Search will sing four English songs that were once often played at the Red Rooster nightclub.
“We took the spirit of Search On 40, the concert this time for the first time will see us bring four cover songs that we usually play while still performing at the Red Rooster nightclub.
“For sure, these four songs must be played every night. We leaked here, two of the four songs that will be played on Search Rock On 40 are Mr Crowley from Ozzy Osbourne and Profession of Violence from UFO,” said Amy.
In the excitement of talking about the filling of the concert, Amy and her friends also think that this concert, which takes the theme of 40 years of artistic journey, is also a tribute to all senior rock bands and the new generation.
“This concert is a tribute to all the old rock bands who have been fighting for 30 to 40 years and the new bands to prove that despite the many challenges that hit, rock music remains relevant in the music industry,” said Nasir.
“For this Search Rock On 40, we will experiment as usual, change the intro, but our significant solo will not lose an important tune that is already known by fans.
“The rest of the concert will flow spontaneously, depending on Amy who is always unpredictable when performing,” they said again.
Search Rock On 40 is a performance that Search lovers will definitely want to watch because in the future, their musical journey will be different.
