Three visitors were injured by a fallen tree at Melaka Zoo

A tree near a tiger enclosure at the Melaka Zoo had fallen yesterday and resulted in three visitors being injured

In the incident, a 43-year-old man broke his right leg, while a woman and her son suffered minor injuries

MELAKA: Three Melaka Zoo visitors were injured after being hit by a fallen tree while visiting the tourist location yesterday.

In the incident at about 2.40 in the afternoon, a 43-year-old man broke his right leg, while a woman and her son, aged 40 and six, suffered minor injuries.

Melaka Tengah District Police Chief, ACP Christopher Patit said the incident happened when the three victims were in the tiger enclosure area.

“They had previously boarded a vehicle provided by the zoo at 2.05pm and as soon as they arrived at the incident area, a tree suddenly fell,” he said when contacted here today.

According to him, all the victims have been taken to Melaka Hospital for further treatment while the Melaka Zoo and related agencies take quick steps to clean up the area.
