Thousands attended the Pahang Berselawat program in conjunction with Malaysia Day celebrations
KUANTAN: The celebration of Malaysia Day at the Pahang State level tonight started with a prayer program at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Perak Jubilee Hall here, which was attended by about 5,000 people.
The program, which lasted more than four hours and started with Maghrib and Isyak prayers in congregation, was attended by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Pahang Mufti Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Rahman Osman as well as the state leadership.
In addition to prayers and qasidahs, there was also a Light and Sound performance by Yayasan Al-Jenderami before the tausiah was delivered by independent preacher Habib Ali Zaenal Abidin Al Hamid.
Wan Rosdy in his speech said the inaugural program would not be realized if the country was not in a state of peace and prosperity.
“We suggest that this program be continued in the future and I thank all parties involved in organizing it,” he said.
The program ended with the singing of the Bahtera Merdeka song and the handing over of the state government’s donation to the lodge and tahfiz study center.
