The Who’s Farewell Tour May Not Include UK and Europe, Say Daltrey and Townshend
May 9, 2025 – London, The Who have announced the North American leg of their final tour, The Song Is Over, taking place this August and September. However, the band is currently undecided on whether the farewell will extend to their home country or Europe.
Lead singer Roger Daltrey voiced reservations at a press event in London, citing logistical difficulties and health constraints, including the need for significant vocal rest between shows. “I’m not ruling it out,” he said, “but I’m not confident either.”
Pete Townshend added that they faced insurance limitations during their last UK run, which prevented them from playing familiar venues. While expressing openness to select shows at iconic locations like The O2 or Royal Albert Hall, the band emphasized they prefer non-consecutive dates – making a full UK or EU tour unlikely.
