PUTRAJAYA: A public video clip uploaded by a cosmetics entrepreneur in the country has been referred to the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) to be brought to the authorities, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Senator Datuk Idris Ahmad.
Idris said, if given the opportunity, he could also meet face to face with the owner of the video as a sign of remembrance and brotherhood among Muslims.
“I took note that there were some contagious videos regarding the public video clip uploaded by a well -known businessman in Malaysia.
“I am called to comment on this issue because at a time when all Muslims must be excited to pursue the last 10 nights of Ramadan to seek as much reward as GOD offers to the believers, as if this issue I am afraid of drowning the enthusiasm of Muslims in pursuing this blessing of piety,” he said. .
According to him, there is a heated debate and discussion among Malaysians on the video clip accompanied by the character of a dancer who is far from oriental manners and Islamic teachings.
He added that it is seen as less suitable to be associated with the victory of Muslims in the month of Syawal later after undergoing tests and tarbiyah in the month of Ramadan.
“My advice with love and my love to great people who are able to develop the ummah, so that such video clips can be removed from being broadcast on any media platform, or it can be in privacy only for the personal view of the video owner.
“I am confident that it can give a big soul and a more open heart if we adhere to the teachings and values of religion,” he said in a post on his Facebook on Monday.
In the meantime, he also called on all Malaysians and Muslims in particular to maintain sensitivity on matters related to religion as well as maintain the limits on entertainment to be highlighted to the community.
“What’s more, our country just wants to recover from GOD’s memory of the Covid-19 army that hit the whole world.
“The opportunity and sustenance that ALLAH gives as an influential person, take advantage of it to invite Muslims to fear ALLAH more and stay away from behaviors that distance us from piety and the pleasure of ALLAH SWT, moreover we are facing a glorious month,” he said.
Earlier, virtual citizens criticized the actions of the entrepreneur who uploaded a public video clip featuring a group of male dancers with make -up and gentle character.
It also received criticism from a lecturer from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Associate Professor Dr Rafidah Hanim Mokhtar, who described the music video as promoting an independent and perverse lifestyle.
In addition, celebrity and senior choreographer, Adam Corrie was also shocked to see the music video and did not agree with the concept highlighted.
