The Sultan of Johor was pleased to send Raya cards, continuing the favorite Aidilfitri tradition
JOHOR BAHRU: Although there are more people in the community today, who are more comfortable sending Selamat Hari Raya greetings online with various applications, but not for the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
His Majesty instead agreed to continue His Majesty’s favorite tradition by personally signing each greeting card in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration to be sent.
Through postings on the social media site Facebook, His Majesty agreed to personally sign each greeting card which is usually done every year.
The raya card was then presented to dignitaries, government officials, Johor Palace staff and the general public.
“Can sleepy I sign everything, tired hand I sign every card.
“Surely tonight I was ‘delirious’ while sleeping in a dream holding a pen while signing this Raya card,” he said jokingly.
On this day, His Majesty agreed to sign as many as 300 Hari Raya greeting cards from His Majesty and the Johor Royal Family.
