The success of Avatar: The Way of Water, James Cameron is the first director with three films to reach US$2 billion

James Cameron’s FILM, Avatar: The Way of Water has officially grossed US$2 billion, becoming the sixth film ever to reach that mark.

This also makes Cameron the only film director with three films that grossed US$2 billion or more.

Cameron’s first film to reach that mark was 1997’s Titanic , which is still in the top three highest-grossing films at US$2.1 billion.

After that, Cameron directed the film Avatar in 2009, which still holds the record for the highest-grossing film of US$2.9 billion.

Other films that grossed over US$2 billion were Avengers: Endgame (US$2.7 billion), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (US$2.07 billion), and Avengers: Infinity War (US$2.05 billion).

The outstanding collection is another milestone for The Way of Water , which took more than a decade to complete.
The extremely long wait made some film watchers skeptical and argued that even if it was completed successfully, it might not do well at the box office .

But the record recorded by The Way of Water so far proves that doubt is completely unfounded.
