The sacrifice of a Ridzuan Hashim; between love and survival
The news of the death of the famous actor of the country, Ridzuan Hashim on Thursday at around 1.57 in the afternoon was a shock to fans and anyone who had seen a glimpse of this actor on television or on the big screen.
The strong figure with the sweet smile of the late Ridzuan is reflected in the eyes. Malaysia has now lost another authoritative and big-hearted artist.
For today’s generation, he is very synonymous with the King character featured in the movie KL Gangster or the role of a man with the rank of Datuk in most of his TV dramas.
But for the generation that grew up with him around the late 80s and 90s, Ridzuan is better known as the ‘heartbreaker’ through his acting in romance movies.
Among the names of Ridzuan Hashim in the local film world are Antara Dua Hati and Hati Bukan Kristal at the beginning of his involvement as an actor.
Ridzuan’s acting talent was even recognized as the Best Male Actor at the 9th Film Festival after the movie Hati Bukan Kristal.
Not only the best, he who returned to the eternal state at the age of 62 has also received recognition as the most popular throughout his involvement in the field of art.
Hundreds of dramas including telemovies and dozens of successful films during more than 20 years of devoting himself as an artist prove how much his love for this field has never waned.
Imagine that a few years ago when he found out he had a heart problem, the deceased asked his son, Muhamad Dhanial from his marriage to his ex-wife, actor and host Didie Alias, to keep the disease a secret from the public.
The reason he has five children with Didie is that he is worried if he does not receive an acting offer. So great was the sacrifice made by the deceased for the world of art and his survival.
So great is his love for the career he pursues, thus becoming a pot of rice for him to live now.
But the Divine promise is something that we humans cannot guess.
The deceased was taken home by the Esa after collapsing while having breakfast at his home in Bandar Tun Razak, in the holy month of Syawal.
At the time this article was written, the deceased was safely buried at the Dusun Tua Islamic cemetery, Hulu Langat on Thursday, his actual burial place.
May the soul of the late Ridzuan Hashim rest in peace in eternity. Al Fatihah.
