The police opened a paper to investigate racially charged statements
KUALA LUMPUR: The police opened an investigation paper regarding a TikTok user who goes by the name ‘fatinamyralee’ who is suspected of making racist remarks about a concert at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, here, last Saturday.
Cheras District Police Chief ACP Zam Halim Jamaluddin said on Tuesday, the police received a report regarding a viral video uploaded by the party involved.
He said the case was investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
“Until now the witness’s conversation has been recorded and a detailed investigation is being carried out regarding this incident.
“The police advise the public not to make any speculations, assumptions or opinions that may cause confusion, annoyance and public order,” he said in a statement last night.
