The minister hopes that Iron Maiden, Metallica will come back for a concert in Indonesia
JAKARTA: Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno hopes that the world’s legendary heavy metal bands, Iron Maiden and Metallica will return to the country once again to hold a concert.
The hope was voiced by Sandiaga following the successful performance of the band from the United States, Slipknot, who attracted the attention of thousands of their fans at the Ancol leisure center, Jakarta, last weekend.
The success of the concert is also considered a good sign for the sector categorized as ‘music tourism’.
“My hope is that Iron Maiden and Metallica will return to Indonesia,” said Sandiaga as reported by the Jakarta Globe news portal.
The last time Metallica and Iron Maiden performed in Indonesia was in 2013 and 2011 respectively.
Earlier this month, the famous band from Britain, Deep Purple held a concert in Central Java which was also watched by the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
President Jokowi is known to many as a fan of rock music.
