‘The Masked Singer Malaysia’ returns to air on 28 January

KUALA LUMPUR: The mysterious singing competition program that once sparked a phenomenon in its first season before this, ‘The Masked Singer Malaysia’ is now back for a second season.

The program will start broadcasting every Friday starting January 28 at 9 pm on Astro Warna HD (channel 107) and can also be streamed exclusively on the Astro GO and On Demand applications.

A total of 14 celebrities consisting of great names from various branches of art such as singers, actors, comedians, TV personalities, athletes, social media influencers and many more will compete during the 10 weeks of the program.

Interestingly, all participants of ‘The Masked Singer Malaysia 2’ will wear costumes from head to toe and make a mysterious performance.

The characters featured this time are Bujang Senang, Nanas, Mat Penyu, Seladang, Teh Tarik Kaw, Harum Manis, Perik Kera, Aiskrim Roti, Rambutan, Ratu Semut, Orchid, Si Merak, Burung Hantu and Pepatung.

All the costumes were specially designed by Akma Suriati Awang, the individual who was responsible for bringing the costumes in the first season before this.

With extensive experience in design and fashion consulting, she is responsible for costume design for various mega theater productions such as ‘Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa’, ‘Siti Di Alam Fantasi’, ‘Mahsuri’, ‘Puteri Gunung Ledang’, and ‘Chow Kit Road’.

Apart from that, the famous fashion designer, Hatta Dolmat also presented the costume “The Masked Singer Malaysia 2” with his touch in various costume styles during the performance.

They will compete to present their great singing talents in front of nine jurors, namely Datuk Aznil Nawawi, Michael Ang, Raja Azura, Zizan Razak, Ella Aminuddin, Remy Ishak, Amy Mastura, Ramona Zam Zam, and Angah Raja Lawak.

Only the voice will be at stake for them!

They will hang out and hide their fame and identity behind masks.
