The Malaysian League returns to Astro, 244 matches in HD broadcast
PETALING JAYA: After almost a decade, Astro is excited to return as the official broadcaster of the Malaysian League, thus strengthening its position as the ‘Home of Sports’
For the 2023/24 season, Astro is committed to increasing the level of coverage not only for matches, but also behind the scenes, the latest football news and media briefings before and after matches.
“It feels like football has come home. It will be an amazing experience. We will broadcast all 244 matches on all our platforms, an amazing viewing experience for the fans.
“We believe Astro is the ‘home’ for sports in Malaysia as we are able to provide great coverage, not only of matches, but also magazine shows, training sessions and various things around the game itself to really engage the fans. in this game, in addition to attracting new fans. All this is to increase the value and love for football in Malaysia,” said Astro Group Chief Executive Officer, Euan Smith.
A total of 244 matches will be broadcast in high definition (HD) starting with the Sumbangsih Cup (Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Cup), Super League, FA Cup, and Malaysia Cup matches.
Astro also brings two latest HD channels dedicated to the Malaysian League namely Astro Arena Bola (Channel 803) and Astro Arena Bola 2 (Channel 804) to broadcast live matches and replays.
Also broadcast are 13 Malaysia League support programs which are pre-match day, match day and post-match day, including on On Demand channels, Astro GO, and digital platforms.
Meanwhile, a total of eight pundits will be involved in analyzing the match, namely Datuk Zainal Abidin Hassan, B. Sathianathan, Azman Adnan, Safee Sali, Norsharul Idlan Talaha, Razman Roslan, Shahrom Kalam, and Nizaruddin Yusof.
Meanwhile, the line-up of commentators consists of Zainal Abidin Rawop, Izwan Mohd Noor, Aiman Sekaiichi, Wan Khairil Azwa, Asmawi Bakiri, Syed Adney, Hasnizam Uzir, and Datuk Richard Scully.
