ALOR SETAR: The Northern Region’s Largest Interactive Children’s Science Exhibition Gallery, the Langkasuka Ark, will be developed at the Northern Regional Branch National Science Center (PSNCWU) near here, which is expected to be completed in October.

Director of the National Science Center (PSN) Mismah Jimbun said the exhibition gallery, will be developed with an area of ​​500 square meters that can accommodate up to 100 visitors at a time and has a maritime theme, to bring visitors to explore Science in the sea.

“This gallery is presented with a conducive environment, attractive design, interactive and directly to stimulate the fun of learning, arouse interest and develop children’s minds,” she said in a statement yesterday.

Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup also paid a working visit to PSNCWU yesterday, to monitor the construction and development process of the exhibition gallery.

Mismah said the exhibition gallery will feature interactive exhibits, starting from the concept of children’s cognitive development to exhibits with the concept of digital literacy, which are in line with the latest trends.

“The Bahtera Langkasuka Gallery will be divided into two zones, namely the Smart Admiral for children aged seven to 12 years and the Little Captain for children aged one to six years.

“This gallery will also house as many as 11 interactive exhibits that suit the latest trends for children,” she said.

She said with the opening of the new gallery later, it is expected that PSNCWU will attract 20,000 visitors around the Northern Region.
