The landscape is damaged by visitors stepping on National Day 2022
The LONGING and excitement of the public to participate in the National Day Celebration this year cannot be denied when as early as 4.30 in the morning the public began to flood Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the nation’s 65th independence day
It is understood that more than 50,000 people have flooded the capital to see the parade of the participating contingents up close.
However, despite the joy and excitement of the celebration, the attitude of a few visitors who are irresponsible and damage the facilities and infrastructure for landscape architecture that uses the Concept of Safe Urban Planting is not well preserved.
Through some of the photos received, many trees planted by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) as beautification of the landscape in several locations around the Dataran Merdeka area were damaged by visitors, causing losses to DBKL.
Among the landscape reasons identified are in front of Menara 1 DBKL and near the City’s Light Rail Transit System (LRT) Station opposite Sogo Supermarket on Jalan Raja Laut.
Despite having to be crowded with the presence of the public, the actions of a few parties are not appropriate and they should be more careful in appreciating the philosophy of national independence without damaging it
