The issue of Hafidz Roshdi’s divorce on May 9
SHAH ALAM: The mention of the case of actor, Hafidz Roshdi and his wife, Nurul Shuhada Mat Shukri in the Syariah Lower Court here regarding the issue of the first divorce pronouncement via the WhatsApp application, is set for next May 9.
Syarie judge, Siti Rahmah Hussin set the date after syarie lawyer, Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kadir, who represents Hafidz or his real name, Muhammad Hafidz Roshdi, 29, as the plaintiff, requested another date to answer the counterclaim regarding the issue.
During the proceedings, Akberdin said, the court previously set Tuesday for the first mention of the divorce proceedings.
“However, after receiving a counterclaim yesterday, Hafidz was surprised because it was said that he had pronounced the divorce earlier, which was on January 22.
“While in the previous divorce application, the statement was made on February 22 and it was never brought up by the defendant,” he said.
Therefore, he requested the court to set a new date to answer the matter.
Apart from Akberdin, Hafidz was also represented by syarie lawyer, Ummi Kartini Abd Latiff.
Meanwhile, syarie lawyer, Nurfarhana Abd Manaf, who represented Nurul Shuhada, 29, as the defendant, confirmed that her side had filed a defense and counterclaim regarding the issue of the divorce decree.
“The first pronouncement of divorce was made on January 22 via WhatsApp and we do not object if the court sets another date for the mention of the case,” she said.
Hafidz and Nurul Shuhada filed for divorce at the Syariah Court here on February 27.
The decision was made after getting consent from both families.
The divorce case was made in accordance with Section 57 of the Islamic Family Law Enactment (Selangor) 2003.
On February 22, Hafidz is believed to have pronounced divorce through a phone call against Nurul Shuhada in front of his family members.
The domestic turmoil of one of the Teen Hero finalists started to be talked about when his wife claimed that the actor had a relationship with another woman.
Then a woman named Athira Yuhada appeared who admitted that Hafidz had been trying to approach her for the past nine years.
However, Athira admitted the mistake and apologized to Nurul Shuhada after allegedly threatening their marital happiness.
However, Nurul Shuhada in her sharing on the Instagram page is ready to say that she can forgive Athira but will not forget what happened.
The Melastik Ke Hatimu drama actor married Nurul Shuhada on 30 April 2016 and as a result of their life sharing, they were blessed with two children, Humairah, 6 and Umar, 3.
