The hot scene of the drama ‘Perempuan Itu’ does not suit the local culture – Ahmad Marzuk

KOTA BHARU: The hot ‘teaser’ scene of the drama Perempuan Itu, which is a hot topic among netizens at the moment, is not in line with the local culture, said Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Ahmad Marzuk Shaary.

He said entertainment industry players should abide by the rules set by the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM).
“We leave it to K-KOMM to take any action.

“From the point of view of religious guidance, such a culture should not be brought into our country,” he said.

He said this to reporters after officiating the National Muaythai Championship at the Kelantan Islamic Tarbiyah Center (PUTIK), Pengkalan Chepa here yesterday.

Ahmad Marzuk said his party would hold a meeting with K-KOMM to find a resolution, guidelines and solutions so that the same thing would not happen again in the future.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Marzuk asked the public to consult the mufti in their respective states to answer the question whether contributors to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) making a special withdrawal of RM10,000 have to pay 2.5 per cent zakat.

Last Wednesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob in a press conference announced that the government would allow a special withdrawal of EPF contributions of RM10,000 to ease the burden of Malaysian families still affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
