The French minister became the cover of Playboy magazine, sparking anger
A French female minister sparked outrage among the public including her own supporters when she appeared on the cover of the controversial Playboy magazine.
Marlene Schiappa who has joined the government party since 2017 appears as the cover face of the adult men’s magazine for the latest issue.
Although not nude, the posing style featured in the magazine provoked anger and was considered immoral for a woman holding a major position in the country.
Schiappa, who wore a bare-chested white dress, appeared in the magazine talking about women’s and LGBT rights. She has long been known as one of the fighters for women’s rights.
She also received severe criticism from colleagues in the political world who saw her actions as shameful.
Schiappa later responded via Twitter by saying she respected everyone’s views on her actions.
“In France, women are free, and we (women) control ourselves,” he tweeted as reported by CNN.
