
The creativity of special students enlivens the national month
DUNGUN: A total of 31 Students with Special Educational Needs (MBPK), Ketengah Jaya Dua National School, Dungun, Terengganu produced shirts with the theme of independence month.
According to SK Ketengah Jaya Dua Head Teacher, Sharifah Che Ali, the program aims to develop the skills of special students and instill patriotic spirit.
Sharifah said the students involved were from the categories of learning problems, retardation, down syndrome, autism and physical problems.
“This program is also one of the branches in the TS25 Program which is the field of artistic aspirations.
“Apart from that, what is expected from this program is that we can unearth the students’ skills, especially in the field of art.
“Even though they are special education class students, they actually have the talent and ability to produce the best work,” she said.
Sharifah said that the school management also planned various activities for special education students at the school during the month of independence.
Dungun District has 29 secondary and primary schools involving 670 students with special needs who actively participate in various activities organized by the school and the District Education Office (PPD).
