The British Royal Family expressed their congratulations to Michelle Yeoh
KUALA LUMPUR: The success of Malaysian-born actress, Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh at the 2023 Oscar event also received an appreciation from the British Royal Family.
In sharing on The Royal Family’s Twitter, the royal family described Michelle’s victory as giving meaning to the unity of the Commonwealth.
It was when the Ipoh, Perak native won it on Commonwealth Day – which is celebrated every second Monday in March.
“Congratulations to Michelle Yeoh and family members in the Malaysian homeland who witnessed her historic victory on Commonwealth Day,” quoted the post on Twitter.
Yesterday (Monday) Michelle made the most glorious history in her artistic career when she was named Best Actress at the 95th Academy Awards (Oscars 2023).
At the glorious event that took place at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, USA, she won the award through her performance in the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Michelle’s success marked her name as the first actress from Asia to be named Best Actress in the history of the Academy Awards throughout the 95 years of the organization.
