‘That’s just a personal opinion’ – Baby Shima
Popular SINGER Baby Shima insists that the allegations against her that she is said to make fun of religion are accusations of malicious intent and slander.
This follows Shima’s comments regarding the Coldplay Concert that will be held in Malaysia this November.
According to the Pura-Pura Bujang singer, she was only voicing her personal opinion about the concert which was disputed by some parties.
“I mentioned concerts in general. The concert is part of the entertainment.
“The Coldplay concert has already been approved by the government. In Malaysia, there are various religions and races. We are a plural society..
“How many concerts have been organized since our country became independent.
It’s up to you and your own opinion,” said Baby Shima in a media statement.
Shima also explained that the opinions expressed through his social media are personal. It has nothing to do with the issue of issuing one’s own fatwa, what is voiced is just a personal view.
“I am not a person with a religious background let alone want to legalize what is illegal.
“I’m just telling you what I think. Maybe it’s because I don’t have a PU title (Initiator of the Ummah), I can’t voice my opinion? Is it only those who have a PU title who can speak? Which chapter insults her religion?
“However, the accusation that I insult religion, issue a fatwa, even a perverse fatwa is a malicious and slanderous accusation.
“I’m just using my right to give my personal opinion in general.
“If you don’t want to go to the concert, you don’t have to go to the concert.
“There is no need to attack me blindly. Let’s not feel noble and all artists are sinners. We are all sinners,” explained Shima.
Baby Shima also hopes that if anyone does not understand what he is saying, they can contact him in various ways.
“It would be good if this party could contact me if they do not understand what I am trying to convey.
“I am also willing and ready to accept a reprimand, not an attack, without a motion to investigate.
“I will also refer to the lawyer, if necessary to take follow-up action,” he added.
Earlier there was a commotion when the international artist Coldplay will hold a concert in Kuala Lumpur, this November. It caused controversy when some claimed that the group supported the perverse culture of LGBT.
Baby Shima who voiced his personal opinion on his social media was reprimanded by some religious people.
There was no less misunderstanding when some netizens claimed that Shima made fun of religion.
