‘Thank you for praying for mummy Mastura’ – Oja
OJA thanked everyone who prayed for her aunt, the singer of the song “Apo Kono Eh Jang”, Datin Mastura Ismail who breathed her last due to stage four ovarian cancer.
He died at his residence in Taman Cheras Idaman, at about 8.39pm on Wednesday.
“Alhamdulillah thanks to your prayers… Mastura Ismail’s mummy affairs have been made easier by Allah.
“Thank you to those who prayed,” he said through the InstaStory column.
Through the same column, Oja also uploaded a photo at the tahlil ceremony held for the deceased, last night.
It is understood that the late Mastura was diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer a few months ago.
Prior to that, the deceased had always complained of pain in the abdomen, but did not seek treatment.
The deceased only underwent village treatment and only agreed to make an examination when persuaded.
The deceased’s body was buried at the Sungai Long Islamic Cemetery.
The late Mastura who is also a widow left two children and two grandchildren.
The deceased began to create the name of the duet song using the Negeri Sembilan accent, “Apo Kono Eh Jang!” sung alongside Ally Noor managed to spark a phenomenon around the 1980s.
