TGV apologizes for the rerun of The Batman because VIPs were late to enter the cinema
KUALA LUMPUR: The operator of the Tanjung Golden Village Cinemas (TGV) cinema chain has apologized to its customers following a complaint that the movie ‘The Batman’ had to be re-screened from the beginning due to the delay of VIP guests after 45 minutes of viewing.
In a statement posted on its social media account, TGV said the incident also did not comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the screening as all film sessions would run on time based on schedule.
“We would like to apologize to all guests who were affected by the session delay for The Batman at TGV Vivacity,” he said in the statement.
Earlier, a Facebook user, Fazillah Raduan, who shared the experience of watching the film, said that the film started at 7.12pm and was shown for 45 minutes before being stopped for a while.
He said a staff member then came in and made an announcement: “We will restart the film from scratch. It was re -screened from scratch, sorry for the inconvenience,” he said.
When asked by the staff what was the reason for the screening of the film being repeated, the answer given was because some customers had just arrived.
Accordingly, TGV is also offering two free tickets and a full refund to affected customers. The management of the cinema network promised to investigate the incident further.
