Tesla will be in India as soon as possible – Elon Musk
MOSCOW: US billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk said that his electric car manufacturing company, Tesla, will be on the Indian market “as soon as possible” and will make “significant investments” in the country’s economy, Sputnik reported.
He said this on Tuesday after meeting with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, in New York.
“I am confident that Tesla will be in India and will do so as soon as possible … India promises more opportunities than any major country in the world.
He (Modi) really cares about India and is pushing us to make big investments in India, which is something we want to do, and we’re just looking for the right time,” Musk told reporters after the meeting.
Musk also said that he is “looking forward to bringing Starlink to India,” and that he will visit the country next year.
Modi is on a visit to the United States from June 20 to 23, including New York and Washington, and he will meet President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
