KEMAMAN: The act of a teenager doing a ‘Superman’ stunt while riding a motorcycle resulted in his arrest by the police near the Jabor Toll Plaza, Lebuhraya Pantai Timur 1 (LPT1) on Saturday.

Kemaman District Police Chief, Superintendent Hanyan Ramlan said, the 18-year-old man from Bandar Jengka, Pahang was arrested after he was spotted riding a motorcycle dangerously at 10.30am.

“This teenager performed a ‘Superman’ stunt by lowering his head parallel to the meter while performing a zig-zag stunt from the right lane of the road to the left lane repeatedly for about two kilometers.

“The police ordered the suspect riding the EX5 motorcycle to stop, but he refused and continued to speed towards the Jabor Toll Plaza,” he said here on Sunday.

According to Hanyan, the police followed the suspect but the man made a U-turn and sped against the current towards Kuantan, before once again making a U-turn towards the Jabor Toll Plaza.

He said the suspect’s motorcycle then crashed about 50 meters from the Jabor Toll Plaza, causing him to suffer minor injuries.

“The suspect was then arrested and taken to the Kemaman District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further investigation under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

“The urine screening test found the suspect negative for drugs,” he said.
