Taiping ‘worldwide’: The Be TOURIST Community Festival brings together a variety of interesting activities

TAIPING: Many firsts in the heritage city famous for the uniqueness of these rain trees.

From the Taiping Prison to the Silver Museum which displays Moorish designs, with a combination of neo classical and victorian styles.

In short, the image of this city no longer needs to be introduced to the public because it is already ‘global’, especially after being awarded as the 3rd Best City in the World in 2018.

Coinciding with that, Taiping was chosen as the venue for the Be TOURIST Community Festival program (BTCF 22), which will take place on October 1 next.

Of course, many interesting activities are gathered throughout it lasts until December, including the heritage trail of the city of Taiping and the culture of the local community.

In addition, try to live in the forest, explore lakes and rivers, explore spirituality and immerse yourself in the life and experience of fishermen here.

According to the Chairman of the Malaysian Zoological Parks and Aquariums (MAZPA), Dr. Kevin Lazarus, the objective of this festival is to re-enforce the legacy provided by the Taiping Municipal Council (MPT).

“The organized activities will involve local residents and communities acting as guides, interpreters, tourist guides and many more.

“This program targets various layers of society who are visitors and visitors from within and outside the country,” he said.

He said this in a press conference after officiating the pre-launch of the festival at the Taiping Municipal Gallery, Jalan Stesen, here on Monday.

Also present, BTCF 22 Advisor, Hanim Ramly.

This program is organized by HOPE Foundation, Association of Malaysian Women Tour Guides and Be Mind Tourist World Sdn. Bhd.

It also got cooperation from synergy partners namely MPT and Koperasi Keluarga Halimah-Hussin Berhad.

He added that the benefits that will be enjoyed by local residents will definitely extend to the economic sector of traders.

“MPT organizes many programs in the form of heritage that bring returns to its residents.

“When visitors participate in this festival, indirectly they will spend and spend the night here, many will be affected from an economic point of view,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Association of Malaysian Women Tour Guides, Erina Loo, said that her party wanted to highlight the glory and heritage of Taiping, not just the history of its buildings.

“Some of us think that many tourists want to know about the history of a place, sometimes they want to know the other side that is interesting there.

“Because of history or facts they can search from sources on the internet and various, but what we want to implement in this program is their involvement with the local community,” she said.

The list and schedule of activities starting October 1 in the city of Taiping are (Malaysia Heritage Walk: Taiping Many First Blossomed) and October 2 at Taman Tasik Taiping (Malaysia Heritage Walk: Discover Our Best Green Destination Taiping.

In addition, November 4 to 6 in Kampung Anak Kurau, Batu Kurau (S.0.S Jungle), December 3 in Mukim Matang (Joss Stick of Yearning) and lastly on December 4 in Kuala Sepetang (My Day as a Fisherman).
