Sylvester Stallone divorced, dog believed to be the cause
Hollywood action star Sylvester Stallone and wife Jennifer Flavin announced their divorce just months after celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.
“I love my family.
“We are dealing with this personal issue amicably and confidentially,” Stallone said in a statement to The Times .
Previously, there had been speculation about the couple’s separation after the “Rocky” star covered his wife’s face tattoo with a picture of his beloved dog “Butkus” who had died.
The action is believed to be one of the reasons for the couple’s separation in addition to the argument following Flavin’s refusal to allow Sly to keep a new dog, reports TMZ .
A close source told TMZ that the “Rocky” star wanted to get a Rottweiler dog for their family’s protection, but Flavin wouldn’t allow it.
Reportedly the two fought over the dog, and neither wanted to give up.
Stallone insisted and finally got a dog named “Dwight”. He later posted a video and photo with the dog on Instagram.
However, when Stallone was in Oklahoma filming a movie, he was shocked to learn that Flavin had filed for divorce.
Flavin reportedly filed for “marriage dissolution” in a court in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States (US) last Friday.
The action actor and former model began dating in the early 90s.
According to IMDb, Flavin appeared as a delivery girl in “Rocky V” in 1990.
In August 1996, the couple had their first daughter, Sophia Rose Stallone before getting married in May 1997.
They were later blessed with daughters, Sistine Rose in 1998, and Scarlet Rose in 2002.
The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in May.
The marriage was Flavin’s first marriage.
Stallone was previously married to first wife Sasha Czack from 1974 to 1985, and actress Brigitte Nielsen from 1985 to 1987.
