Syamsul Yusof welcomes Maya Karin’s suggestion that she wants to be a Mahsuri
ACTOR and director Syamsul Yusof welcomes actress Maya Karin’s wish to translate the legendary character, Mahsuri to the silver screen.
Through the social media site Instagram, Syamsul shared a screenshot of the news with a caption as if agreeing to Maya’s offer.
“Good idea let’s do it @maya_karin,” write Syamsul.
Last week, Maya, or her real name, Karin Roelcke, has long coveted the iconic character.
In fact, the star of Pontianak Harum Sundal Malam cited Syamsul’s name to direct the film after the success of Mat Kilau which managed to collect almost RM100 million.
Meanwhile in the comment section, many celebrity friends and members of the public expressed their excitement after seeing the idea get positive feedback.
