Sunway City Ipoh reveals RM4 billion GDV development plan
KUALA LUMPUR: The developer of Sunway City Ipoh (SCI), Sunway City (Ipoh) Sdn Bhd has launched an expansion plan with a gross development value (GDV) of RM4 billion to support Ipoh’s sustainable socio-economic growth.
In a statement on Wednesday, Executive Director Wong Wan Wooi said SCI is now valued at RM2 billion in GDV, with another RM4 billion in GDV being prepared for the next 10 to 15 years.
A number of facilities are being built in the area, such as the eight-storey Sunway Medical Center Ipoh on 1.36 hectares of land, equipped with 260 beds and eight operating theatres, which will be ready and operational by the first quarter of 2024.
He said upcoming projects in Ipoh include the development of the city’s largest shopping center with a gross floor area of over one million square feet, equipped with more than 2,000 parking spaces as well as a 1.62 hectare education campus.
Sunway Integrated Properties Sdn Bhd (Sunway Property) will also launch the flexi terrace development located 300 meters from the medical center, which includes 168 residential units.
Meanwhile, he said Sunway Property is working with the Ipoh City Council to upgrade Jalan Tambun from the North-South Expressway exit to the Taman Perpaduan junction and is contributing RM8 million towards the project which is expected to be completed in mid-2023.
