Sultan of Selangor and Permaisuri expressed his condolences on the death of Queen Elizabeth II

SHAH ALAM: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin today expressed their condolences to the British royal family and all the people of the country on the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Through a post on Selangor Royal Office Facebook, His Majesty and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin said, Queen Elizabeth II will always be remembered with respect and love as a Queen who dedicated her whole life to the people.

“Her reign can be described as a duty, dedication and commitment to her country and the Commonwealth countries. She is admired and respected around the world as a figure of stability and unity throughout his life who brings great change,” according to the statement.

Queen Elizabeth II visited Malaysia several times and attended lunch with the late Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah at Istana Alam Shah in Klang in 1972 and 1989, as part of the Commonwealth Heads of State Meeting (CHOGM) and visited the Sultan Salahuddin Mosque Abdul Aziz Shah in Shah Alam.

“Sultan Sharafuddin also agreed to go to the dining ceremony on board HMS Britannia when the ship was docked in Port Klang in 1972 and 1989, at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II.

“Queen Elazabeth II is always generous and is often involved in discussions to further improve bilateral relations with the people of Selangor and Malaysia,” according to the statement.
