Sultan Nazrin agreed to break his fast with the media, receiving business zakat of RM1.64 million

KUALA KANGSAR: The Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah Shah agreed to go to the Iftar ceremony with the media, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the corporate sector, the private sector, government-related companies and youth at the Istana Iskandariah here on Saturday.

The Queen of Perak Tuanku Zara Salim also left.

Also present were the Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, the Chairman of the Islamic Religious Council and ‘Adat Malay Perak (MAIPk) Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini, as well as Bernama Chief Executive Officer Roslan Ariffin.

His Majesty also agreed to accept business zakat to be handed over to MAIPk from five corporate companies, with a total of RM1.64 million.
The submission of business zakat was preceded by Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad represented by its Chairman Tan Sri Dr Ismail Bakar with a total of RM520,000, CelcomDigi Berhad represented by Head of Government Affairs Roslan Rosli (RM419,454).

Telekom Malaysia Berhad and Deputy General Manager Badrul Hisham Bahari handed over zakat of RM309,855, Boustead Plantations Berhad by its Director Izaddeenn Daud (RM295,247) and GB13 Group Sdn Bhd by Chief Executive Officer Balakumarr Karupiah (RM100,000).

Sultan Nazrin also performed the Maghrib, Isyak and Tarawih prayers with the guests and agreed to go to the meal.
