“Stop using the VE name, in GV9 is enough” – Zaf
“AFTER 11 weeks of VE being used in GV9, with this I am of the opinion that it is better for them to move forward to build their careers with a new name that is not VE,” affirmed the original member of the VE group, Zaf, who came forward to request that the group built under the name of VE in Gegar Vaganza (GV9) no longer uses the name VE as their group name.
Zaf, or his full name Zafri Nazarudin, said the decision was taken peacefully to maintain friendly relations in the future.
“I, as the person who established this group from the beginning, am responsible for the name of the VE group.
“Here I am asking all parties to accept this decision and let them respect each other so that this relationship does not become murky,” he pleaded.
VE featured in GV9 before with the new lineup of Cham, Adeep, Hakim and Fakhiz.
Zaf revealed that the previous conflict with the VE group erupted after he was asked not to interfere in their affairs in GV9 before the competition began.
“I admit there was a misunderstanding before GV9 took place. I, who from the beginning managed VE together with GV9 production on Astro to participate in the program was upset because it was suddenly like being removed.
“Even I am not allowed to interfere in the affairs of those who join GV9. I respect their decision. So I resigned and did not give any statement about my status before,” he explained.
According to Zaf, he already informed the group members that he could not commit at that time due to work matters and agreed for Fakhiz to replace him temporarily at GV9.
“In fact, the initial decision should have placed Fakhiz as a ‘reserve player’ only because I was unable to commit during that period.
“However, I found out from the media that he was absorbed as a new member of the group without my consent. I’m so confused why did you turn your back on me?” the question.
Therefore, Zaf explained, as the original member of the VE group requested that they build a new group name.
“I will not allow them to use the name VE. VE is VE. After all I think they are known and people will accept them better.
“In order to protect the good name of VE, it is better that they move with a new name,” he emphasized.
VE at GV9 won fifth place in the final competition and took home a trophy and cash prize worth RM15,000. GV9 crowned Jaclyn Victor as the champion
