Stephen Schwartz to Lead ASCAP Foundation Musical Theatre Fest in Beverly Hills, May 5–6
LOS ANGELES, April 19, 2025 — Acclaimed composer Stephen Schwartz will once again host the ASCAP Foundation Musical Theatre Fest, returning to The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on May 5 and 6 for an inspiring look at the craft and future of musical theatre.
Night one, “Songs from the Cutting Room Floor,” offers rare performances of songs that didn’t make the final cut in hit Broadway productions. Joined by fellow creators Irene Sankoff & David Hein and Karey Kirkpatrick, Schwartz curates a night of reflection, musical insight, and stories from behind the scenes.
The second evening, the Musical Theatre & Librettist Workshop, features presentations of new musicals Piney Needlesmith and the Road Less Traveled and WEEKEND, giving audiences a front-row seat to the development process and critiques from theatre veterans.
Free to attend, both nights offer a rich experience for fans and aspiring composers alike. Reservations can be made at TheWallis.org/Concert and TheWallis.org/Workshop.
