Singapore celebrated its 57th National Day with a large-scale physical parade
SINGAPORE: The physical celebration of Singapore’s 57th National Day took place with a large-scale Parade and Ceremonial Parade at the Marina Bay Floating Stage here today.
Themed “Stronger Together, Go Forward!” This year’s National Day Parade (NDP) 2022 was attended by Singapore President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
This year’s celebration was lively with around 25,000 people on the stage – after last year’s shortened Ceremonial Parade due to COVID-19.
The celebration began with the first segment titled “Our Nation’s Strength”, which included a Total Defense Display involving air, land and sea performances by the Singapore Armed Forces and National Security Forces.
Following this was the Parade and Ceremonial Parade attended by 2,000 participants from the virtual and physical marching contingent, as well as from the Singapore Armed Forces, Homeland Security Forces and other agencies.
The segment was complemented by a virtual performance of military tattoos and for the first time during the march, a choir team made a virtual appearance performing the NDP 2022 theme song “Stronger Together”.
The event was followed by a second segment titled “The Story of Us”, which featured a live presentation on Singapore’s achievements, as a community and a nation that emerged stronger than the challenges it faced.
The Ceremonial Parade is live-streamed on NDPeeps’ official Facebook and YouTube pages, as well as national TV channels.
