Sing a Tamil song… Siti Nurhaliza shared the stage with AR Rahman
The singer will be surprising fans with a Tamil rendition in front of a crowd of over 40,000 people
Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza has been working to perfect her Tamil pronunciation and regain her stamina after taking a break from singing.
The country’s number one SINGER, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza admits that she feels lucky when she will appear in the mega concert of the legendary singer and composer from India, AR Rahman.
The AR Rahman – Secret of Success – Live in Malaysia 2023 concert at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium will take place this Saturday.
According to Siti, who is popular with the songs Cindai and Seindah Biasa, the friendship between her and AR Rahman gave her the opportunity to perform at the world-class singer’s concert.
“Actually a few years ago I invited AR Rahman to come to my house after being informed that he was in Malaysia. So I contacted the organizer and I don’t think he welcomed the invitation.
“Starting from there, we exchanged emails to share all the developments and the latest I found out he will be doing a concert here. He also informed and asked about my art schedule.
“However, I told him that I was on a long holiday abroad, then he invited me to collaborate with him on the given date. I’m like what else, like the shoots of the future ulam, I continue to agree,” she said.
According to Siti, at the concert she will entertain fans with a Tamil song created by AR Rahman and is actively preparing for the concert.
“I’m a bit nervous to make this performance a success because first I’m working with my idol and I have to make sure the pronunciation of this song is delivered correctly.
“Fortunately, I have a good friend Datuk K (Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa) who is Indian and is willing to teach and help me. The first day with him, I just learned the pronunciation, then it took me two to three days to memorize the lyrics.
“The song that will be delivered is an old song that is quite famous by AR Rahman. So every day I practice and make sure the names are clear and correct,” she said.
