Serj Tankian and Gibson Release Artistic Masterpiece in Ultra-Limited Les Paul Modern Run
Blending his musical legacy with a deep passion for visual storytelling, Serj Tankian has collaborated with Gibson to release a striking new instrument: the Foundations Les Paul Modern. Limited to just 25 pieces, the guitar made its debut at an exclusive event hosted at Tankian’s own art gallery.
The design takes inspiration from Tankian’s latest Foundations EP and features his original Sunburst painting imprinted on a AAA maple top via high-resolution sublimation. Beneath the art lies a lightweight mahogany body, a SlimTaper neck, and modern hardware engineered for performance and playability.
Sonically, the guitar features a Burstbucker Pro in the neck and a hotter Pro+ in the bridge, alongside coil-split and phase options—perfect for tonal adventurers. Grover locking tuners, an aluminum stop bar, and a Graph Tech nut round out its premium components.
Each guitar is accompanied by a signed vinyl, autographed memoir, limited art print, and VIP concert tickets to see System of a Down live. With Tankian’s personal signature and number on every headstock, this collaboration offers not just a guitar, but a piece of his creative world.
