SDW 2023 will showcase unique furniture designs, local and international handicrafts

KUALA LUMPUR : More than 200 exhibition stalls will be featured through the organization of Sarawak Design Week (SDW) 2023 which will take place from 13 February to 16 February 2023 at the Borneo Convention Center Kuching (BCCK).

The exhibition, which was held for the first time, will feature a variety of interesting downstream products, in addition to local and international wooden design products.

In addition, SDW 2023 which is recommended by the joint efforts of the Sarawak Design Center (Saradec) and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Indonesia will also be enlivened with cultural offerings.

“The Sarawak Furniture Industry Association (SFIA) also has a list of participants who will exhibit various electrical and electronic technologies, interior design and furniture at their booths ,” quoted a media statement shared by SDW on Friday.

He explained that the exhibition was also attended by some familiar names in the local product industry, including Yayasan Tun Jugah, Centexs Commercial, Ran & Nong Creations and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

“The SayD’Signers Pavilion located in the main exhibition hall at BCCK will feature a variety of furniture designs produced by Bumi Kenyalang’s young designers.

“This SDW exhibition is also supported by the Ministry of International Trade and Industrial Terminals (MINTRED), the Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC), the Sarawak Forestry Department and several other private companies,”

Visitors can expect a variety of interesting exhibits of locally produced handicrafts specially designed to match the interior decoration.

Among other things, SDW said, the exhibition also opened its doors to handicrafts, as well as wooden products specially produced by industry players from neighboring countries, Indonesia.

Visitors also have the opportunity to shop various products produced by small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and from selected vendors.
