Saying no to people makes Nicholas Saputra feel ‘very powerful’

THE NAME of Nicholas Saputra is a very strong brand in the Indonesian and Malaysian film world.

Nicholas has been a crazed fan since he first exploded with his character as Rangga in the phenomenal film, Ada Apa Denga Cinta (AADC) more than 15 years ago.

Along with his popularity, in addition to his career, his personal life is also highlighted by the media and fans.

But until now, the man with the ‘mysterious’ face is able to survive to maintain the secret and privacy of his life.

According to Nicholas, the ‘secret’ of his life to remain private is to say no to many invitations or requests that come.

He, who has been used to being the center of attention since he was a teenager, said that because he was often chased, he had to limit many things, including daring to refuse.

“From a young age I have seen the impact in my career for myself, family and neighbors.

“So I learned to say no. To say no or refuse is a very powerful force even though it is difficult to say no,” said Nicholas in an interview with YouTube CXO Media as reported by Kompas.

Even though sometimes he thought that refusing a request might make himself egotistical, the star threw those feelings away.

He said by saying no, he was actually indirectly protecting himself and many things around him.

“I used to think when I refused a request like I was selfish but I threw that feeling away. All this is a process, and I’m used to rejecting and then dealing with people whose requests are rejected,” he added.
