Roland’s LX Digital Piano Series Wins 2025 iF Design Award

Roland’s LX Digital Piano Series Wins 2025 iF Design Award

April 9, 2025 – Roland is proud to announce that its LX Digital Piano series has been honored with an iF Design Award 2025. This marks the first time in six years that the prestigious award has recognized Roland’s LX line, following the LX700 series win in 2019.

Presented by the iF International Design Forum in Hannover, Germany, the award is a globally respected recognition for excellence across nine categories, including product and communication design. The LX series (LX-9, LX-6, LX-5) stood out among approximately 11,000 entries from 66 countries and secured the award in the Musical Instruments category.

The LX digital pianos are designed to bring the experience of a concert grand piano into the home, featuring Roland’s latest technologies developed over more than five decades. With a completely revamped design, the new models feature enhanced sound engines, redesigned keys and pedals, and an innovative sound system that delivers the rich resonance and nuance of an acoustic instrument.

Combining elegance with functionality, the LX series offers a refined upright piano look with a space-conscious design. Each model includes a wide variety of tones, built-in songs, and advanced digital features—such as integration with the free Roland Piano App for guided lessons and interactive play.

Sustainability also plays a role in the LX design, using a hybrid of wood and plastic in the keys for a natural feel with low maintenance. Notably, Roland offers a 10-year warranty on the LX series—a first in the digital piano industry in major markets—underscoring its commitment to quality and durability.
