Roger E. Mosley, star of Magnum, P.I. and other classic shows, dies at 83
The actor also appeared on Love Boat, Kojak, The Rockford Files, and dozens of other TV series
ACTOR Roger E. Mosley, best known for his role as helicopter pilot Theodore ‘TC’ Calvin on the 80s hit show Magnum, P.I., died Sunday, his daughter announced. He was 83.
Mosley spent his last moments with his family after being injured in a car crash last week that left him paralyzed and in critical condition, his daughter Ch-a Mosley said. No other details of the crash were made public.
She writes, “We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name. It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all. I love you daddy. You loved me too. My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy.”
Mosley is probably best remembered for playing Theodore ‘TC’ Calvin in the Magnum P.I. back in the 80s, opposite Tom Selleck. His character flew a helicopter in the show, and often helped the titular character by transporting all over Hawaii. He was on the show for eight years and 150 episodes from 1980 to 1988.
Mosley made an appearance in the recent reboot of Magnum P.I. as another character, John Booky.
He also appeared on Sanford and Son, Love Boat, Kojak, The Rockford Files, Starsky and Hutch and dozens of other TV series.
