Rock On 40: Kumpulan Search rocked the Istana Budaya stage on December 4
KUALA LUMPUR: The country’s legendary rock group, Search, will appear in the Search Rock On 40 Concert that will take place at the Sari Theatre, Istana Budaya (IB) on December 4.
In the signing ceremony that took place at the Menara Network office, recently, the vocalist of Search, Datuk Suhaimi Abdul Rahman or Amy expressed his pride for having the opportunity to return to the prestigious stage of Istana Budaya while recalling nostalgia.
“It is an honor for us to perform at Istana Budaya and meet the fans who have supported us for the past 40 years.
“After eight years we are back and performing a range of songs played during the days of performing at club gigs to bring back the memories.
“This segment is very meaningful because at that time we succeeded in changing the landscape of the music industry dominated by blues and reggae rhythms,” he said.
Meanwhile, the organizer of Network Sdn Bhd, Datuk Ab Razif Asmuni said the Rock on 40 concert coincided with celebrating the success of rock music over the past four years.
“This mega performance marks the beginning of a series of rock concerts touring all over the state including Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore.
“Due to the great response from the fans, we chose to extend this concert with the legendary group Search,” he said.
Datuk Razif also hinted that the three-night performance at Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur will take the audience back to the heyday of Malaysian rock music and will be able to hear hits that were rarely performed at concerts before.
The Search performance is the highlight of the Rock On 40 concert and complements the Rock On 40 series . This is because there will be a rock concert featuring great singers of this music genre, such as Man Kidal, Datuk Awie, Muss, Riz Halim and Ella on the 2nd and 3rd of December.
