RM2.35 million to upgrade Darul Makmur Stadium

KUANTAN: A total of RM2.35 million has been allocated to upgrade the Darul Makmur Stadium here which covers its facilities and environment next year.

Pahang Human Resources, Youth, Sports and Non-Government Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Hussain said the allocation will also be used to celebrate the golden jubilee of the stadium, which is located in the city center here, in 2023.

“A book with the history and transformation of the stadium needs to be prepared and launched in conjunction with the golden jubilee celebration.

“This is intended so that the historic event since the Darul Makmur Stadium was first developed will continue to be remembered, especially by the younger generation,” he said while wrapping up the Pahang Budget 2023 debate at Wisma Sri Pahang today.

He said the state government also intends to reactivate equestrian sports through the allocation of RM1.5 million through the Pahang Sports Council to renovate the Equestrian Complex in Tanjung Lumpur here and organize the sport at the national level.

State Science, Technology, Innovation, Communication and Multimedia Committee chairman Datuk Mohammad Fakhruddin Mohd Ariff said the construction of a total of 242 communication towers under the National Digital Network (JENDELA) project is expected to be completed in stages until the middle of next year.

He said the project to upgrade 902 existing transmitter stations in the state to the 4G network had been completed while the upgrade of the fixed broadband network for 88,144 premises had been completed so far and work on a total of 30,116 premises was being carried out.

He said all 69 Orang Asli villages in Pahang had also completed the installation of satellite technology broadband Internet last April.

Mohammad Fakhruddin said the state government is also funding an Internet service project using satellite technology in 50 rural and rural areas known as Pahang Rural Internet Services and Multimedia Access (PRISMA PAHANG) worth RM3 million which will provide free services for a period of 12 months starting this month.
