Reggae singer Bob Marley’s grandson Jo Mersa has died

The 31-year-old singer is survived by a wife and daughter.

TALLAHASSEE: Reggae singer Joseph ‘Jo Mersa’ Marley, who is also the grandson of the legendary singer, Bob Marley, died yesterday.

According to journalist Abka Fitz-Henley, who was reported by the New York Post , Jo Mersa was found unconscious in the car before being confirmed dead.

South Florida radio station WZPP also confirmed Jo Mersa’s death from an asthma attack, but did not say where the incident occurred.

It is understood that the 31-year-old singer left behind a wife and daughter.

Jo Mersa who is also the son of musician Stephen Marley is 31 years old.

His grandfather Bob Marley was a pioneer in the reggae music arena famous for his songs including ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Alright’, ‘Get Up, Stand Up’, ‘Is This Love’, ‘I Shot the Sheriff’, ‘No Woman, No Cry’ and many again.

The late Bob Marley died in 1981 at the age of 36.

Meanwhile, Jo Mersa grew up in Jamaica before moving to Florida and majoring in studio engineering at Miami Dade College.

Jo Mersa once appeared with an EP titled ‘Comfortable’ in 2014 which was also used as a song title.
