MIAMI, FL , Aug. 1, 2024 / — Today, Red Bull Batalla , the world’s leading Spanish-language freestyle competition, is excited to announce details for the upcoming U.S. National Final taking place on Saturday, October 12 in Miami . Tickets for the event are now on sale at redbull.com/batallausa .
16 of the best freestylers from across the country will battle it out on the Factory Town Miami stage in a highly-anticipated event that will test their lyricism, speed, creativity, and stage presence in elimination rounds until only one MC remains. The winner who earns the title of 2024 National Champion will move on to the world’s biggest stage for freestyle rap at the Red Bull Batalla International Final in Madrid , Spain, next November.
All the action will be judged by a panel of freestyle experts including Venezuelan legend and 6-time Latin Grammy nominated artist Akapellah , alongside 2-time Red Bull Batalla Reverse national champions Snow QLQ , Dilema , and more to be announced. The event will be hosted by Racso White Lion and beats will be provided by resident DJ Cesar.
The 2024 Red Bull Battle season kicked off with a global application phase that saw nearly 8,000 entries, followed by American qualifying competitions in San Antonio and Brooklyn , marking the first time Red Bull Battle was held in New York ‘s Empire State Building .
Now all eyes turn to the Magic City and October 12th, which will be the big night for freestyle rap in the United States. Florida has long been a hotbed of talent and the freestyle rap scene is now on fire. For the past three years, the Red Bull Battle USA champion trophy has been won by a resident of the state, with record-breaking wins by Oner and reigning champion Reverse , who, following his win last year, became a two-time Red Bull Battle USA champion – a feat previously only achieved by Puerto Rican MC Yartzi .
Following the US qualifiers, only 10 of the 16 spots are secured for the National Final in Miami . Among the MCs confirmed so far are last year’s National Final runner-up Zazowan , Miami ’s explosive Colombian Nico B , lyrical powerhouse and New York regional champion AdonYS , Mexican veteran Jordi and many more. To ensure that the best MCs from every corner of the country have a shot at the national title, Red Bull Batalla , in collaboration with local freestyle leagues, will be hosting a series of regional cups in Los Angeles on August 3 ( La Liga De La Calle ), Houston on August 10 ( Liga Masacure ), Miami on August 31 ( Miami Freestyle League ) and Chicago also on August 31 (Midwest Freestyle ), before a Último Cupo battle on September 14 in Atlanta to confirm the final MC spot.
