Ramadan bazaar traders are advised to prepare the Rahmah Menu, the price is right – Datuk Bandar
IPOH: Traders who will do business at the Ramadan bazaar in March, are advised to provide Rahmah Menu to the public.
At the same time, Ipoh Mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin said, traders were also reminded to charge more reasonable prices to help ease the burden on buyers.
“We really encourage this because we have already informed you. If possible, we want as many traders as possible to offer the Rahmah Menu. It is good for the people.
“We encourage that not only the Rahmah Menu, but also that the price is more affordable. We will also work with certain companies to make it easier for people to come.
“Because, we know there may be many people who are busy to buy and so on, if you use the food delivery service it is easier, the market is bigger and thus they (traders) can reduce the price,” he said.
Rumaizi said this to reporters after officiating the opening of Lalaland Cafe in Jalan Lasam, here, yesterday.
Meanwhile, commenting on the application for the addition of this year’s Ramadan Bazaar site, he said that his party was examining three more sites for traders.
He said that the Ipoh City Council (MBI) will open a total of 19 Ramadan Bazaar sites this year, with an estimated 1,296 plots.
“It is true that (the application for the Ramadan Bazaar site) has been closed but we will study a new application, if suitable we will consider it for the applicant.
“There are three sites under study. I expect, if there is an increase, maybe in 150 to 200 more dealers,” he added.
The government introduced the Rahmah Menu as an effort to help the poor who need ready-to-cook food.
The menu, which is priced at RM5 and below, includes rice, a piece of chicken or a piece of fish and vegetables.
