Raja Nazrin SOG denied getting married quickly because he won the AJL
VOCALIST of Sekumpulan Orang Gila (SOG), Raja Nazrin Shah decided to get married not because he had just won the 36th Song Champion Award (AJL36) but because he had known his wife who is also the vocalist of Margosa group, Resya Ab Rahman for a long time.
According to Nazrin, 32, he does not mind ending his bachelorhood even though the name of his group is now mentioned.
“Alhamdulillah, I have been a husband for 10 days, the beginning of my acquaintance with my wife was on the basis of work where he is also a musician.
“Some people say I want to get married quickly because I just won the AJL but in fact I want to hurry up because we have known each other for six years. So what’s wrong with us speeding up.
“After all, I want fans to know me not because of myself but more because of our works,” he said.
Nazrin was spotted at the Fenix360 application launch ceremony held in Bobo, Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
The couple, who were previously engaged in October last year, got married on May 14 at the bride’s house in Bandar Sri Damansara, Petaling Jaya which was also attended by family members and close friends and will be together next month.
The wedding, which was overseen by Resya’s father, Ab Rahman Mohd Yassin, also saw Nazrin handing over a dowry worth RM1,000 and a gold ring to his wife.
Commenting on the story of their relationship, Nazrin or Raja Nazrin Shah Raja Azaham got to know his wife in 2016 via Twitter.
“Resya who was also an indie artist at the time wrote on her Twitter that she was looking for a cello player for a music project and a friend informed me.
“What makes me attracted to Resya is that she is herself, not ‘beautiful control’ like some other women make me comfortable with her.
“I have never set the criteria for a wife candidate as an artist either, all of them are mates.
“There are no more honeymoon plans, let alone thinking about adding family members. Let us finish what is right first, ”he said, who is currently busy preparing and promoting the SOG concert, Sekumpulan Orang Gila Showcase on June 11 at the Bentley Music Auditorium, Wisma Bentley, Petaling Jaya.
