Radhi OAG pleaded not guilty of injuring his ex -wife
PETALING JAYA: Well -known artist and singer of the group, Radhi OAG pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court here, today, on charges of injuring his ex -wife.
Citing Bernama, Radhi or real name Muhammad Radhi Razali, 45, made the confession after the charge was read out in front of Magistrate Muhammad Iskandar Zainol today.
According to the charge sheet, the vocalist of the alternative rock group was charged with intentionally causing injury to Nur Shahira Ayu Zahiri, 28, at the Emporis Menara D parking lot in Kota Damansara, here, at 2.29pm, last Tuesday.
The accused was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code which provides for a maximum jail term of one year and a fine of RM2,000 or both.
Magistrate Muhammad Iskandar Zainol allowed the singer to be released on bail of RM2,500 with the additional condition that witnesses were not disturbed during the trial.
The court set July 17 for mention of the case for the submission of documents.
Media previously reported that the police arrested the artist at his residence on Tuesday after the victim lodged a report on the same day.
Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the incident happened when the victim wanted to take their son from the suspect in the parking lot of her ex -husband’s residence at 2.29 pm.
The couple who got married on April 14, 2014 and were blessed with two children, Muhammad and Nur Aisyah, aged six and seven respectively.
After the divorce, Ayu and her son settled with her parents in Kota Damansara.
