Puteri Sarah will file for nusyuz defense
KUALA LUMPUR: The Gombak Timur Syariah Lower Court here on Thursday fixed May 8 next for actress, Puteri Sarah to file a statement of defense against the nusyuz application by her husband, Syamsul Yusof.
During the case re-mention proceedings before the Syarie Judge, Maizatul Aliza Chee Din, the syarie lawyer, Datuk Akberdin Abdul Kader, who represented Puteri Sarah as the defendant, said that the If It Was Destiny actress was unable to attend because she was abroad.
He said, Puteri Sarah or her real name Puteri Sarah Liyana Megat Kamaruddin, 38, apologized for not being able to attend the nusyuz case proceedings.
“The client will return to her homeland at 11 am, so I request that she be excused from attending this proceeding.
“We also confirm that we have received a summons from Syamsul (plaintiff) on March 24,” she said.
Therefore, the syarie lawyer applied to the court to set another date for the process of filing the defense statement.
Through Princess Sarah’s sharing on social media, the actress is in Jakarta for work.
Hearing the matter, syarie lawyer, Azmi Mohd Rais who represents Syamsul or his real name, Mohd Shamsul Md Yusof did not object to the application.
On March 21, Syamsul filed a nusyuz application against Puteri Sarah at the East Gombak Syariah Lower Court, here.
He claimed that Princess Sarah often contacted ex-lovers who had the status of husbands, thus disturbing the man’s household.
For the record, Syamsul and Puteri Sarah got married on March 8, 2014 and were blessed with a pair of children namely Syaikhul Islam, 6, and Sumayyah, 4.
Syamsul and Puteri Sarah’s marital crisis began to be talked about four years ago, but the son of Datuk Yusof Haslam never opened his mouth about the matter.
