GOMBAK: Actress Puteri Sarah Liyana Megat Kamaruddin filed a nusyuz defense that her husband, Syamsul Yusof previously filed.

“We have already filed the nusyuz defense claim filed by Syamsul and at the same time our side (Princess Sarah) also filed a counterclaim which is nusyuz against Syamsul,” said the lawyer when met after the mention of the nusyuz case at the East Gombak Syariah Lower Court, here. today.
Previously, Syamsul filed a nusyuz claim on the grounds that his wife was still contacting her ex-lover who had the status of common-law husband.
In addition, among the reasons presented against the nusyuz claim include leaving the brothel since October 2020, refusing to comply with the nusyuz notice and defaming her by beating her and not providing alimony.
At the same time, Akberdin could not ensure Puteri Sarah’s presence at today’s session.
“Not sure if Sarah will come or not. But, our side has already filed the nusyuz defense,” he said.
On April 6, Puteri Sarah told reporters that she will file a defense against the nusyuz claim made by Syamsul which was filed at the East Gombak Syariah Lower Court, here, on March 21.
However, Syamsul, also a famous director, said he would withdraw all the claims after discussing with his first wife on April 10.
The statement was made after Syamsul finally agreed to pronounce a divorce against Puteri Sarah on April 18 at the Kuala Lumpur Syariah Lower Court.
However, on April 18, the divorce did not happen after the director of the film Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan refused to pronounce the divorce on the scheduled date.
Syamsul and Puteri Sarah’s marital crisis erupted following the presence of Ira Kazar, who is also the son of veteran actor Kazar, in the couple’s life.
