PRN Melaka: Dira Abu Zahar is the first artist to win the election

Dira or Datuk Khaidhirah Abu Zahar who is the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate in the Rim state seat managed to defeat two other candidates in the constituency

ACTRESS Dira Abu Zahar is now the first celebrity to hold the title of elected representative after winning the Melaka State Election (PRN) for the N25-Rim State Assembly (DUN).
Dira or Datuk Khaidhirah Abu Zahar who is the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate in the Rim State Assembly (DUN) seat managed to defeat two other candidates in the constituency.

Dira won with a majority of 1,327 defeating two other candidates after garnering 4,037 votes.

Two other candidates, Azalina Abdul Rahman (PN) garnered 2,710 votes while Prasanth Kumar (PH) with 2,163 votes.

Earlier, Dira expressed his desire to follow in the footsteps of his father who was also the eighth former Chief Minister of Melaka, the late Datuk Seri Abu Zahar Ithnin.

Dira previously starred in many great scripts including “Tahajud Cinta”, “Dahlia”, “Chow Kit” and “Longkai”.
