Pos Malaysia issued a special stamp commemorating Prof Khoo, Ungku Aziz, Rashdan Baba

Pos Malaysia has issued a special stamp collection so that the legacy of the figures involved will not be forgotten

KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia introduced a special stamp to commemorate the contributions of Malaysian intellectuals, namely the late Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Khoo Kay Kim and the late Royal Professor Ungku Aziz and Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Mohd Rashdan Baba.

Through Pos Malaysia’s social media page, they announced the sale of these stamps to appreciate the great contribution of the three intellectual figures involved in this country.

“Even though they are gone, their legacy has been an extension to the development of the country and the mindset of our society until now.

“To commemorate these great scholars, Pos Malaysia has issued a special stamp collection so that their legacy will not be forgotten,” wrote Pos Malaysia.

Citing the New Straits Times , Khoo’s surviving widow Puan Sri Rathi Khoo shared that her family was happy and grateful for the award.

“His love and loyalty to the country cannot be disputed and he has been rewarded for his efforts.

“The family is very pleased and we thank the government for appreciating his contribution along with other figures,” she said.

Commenting further, she said: “Ungku and Rasdan Baba are icons in the academic field and to remember Prof is a great thing.

“Ungku was with the Prof throughout his work at Universiti Malaya and the Prof always respected him.

“Now, their togetherness in stamps is greatly appreciated by our family,” she said.

The stamps can be purchased on the pos.com.my website or at all main post offices and branch post offices nationwide for a price of RM61.10.
